In Memory of Claude McCormick

Claude McCormick founder and owner of Armedica Manufacturing Corporation

Claude L. McCormick, 84, of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Thursday, September 9, 2021, in a Fort Smith hospital.  Claude was born in Midland, Arkansas on May 23, 1937.

Shortly after retiring In 1998, with the help of his wife Betty he founded Armedica Manufacturing in Greenwood Arkansas, where he remained active as President and CEO up to his passing. 

Claude graduated from Hartford High School and moved to California to find work where he and Betty met.  His work ethic and continued education took him from an entry level labor position to senior vice president of a major corporation. 

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Betty McCormick, brother Clyde McCormick, and sisters Faye Dean McCormick and Margie Garrison.

He is survived by two sons, Gary McCormick of Fort Smith and Michael McCormick and wife, Bobbie of Greenwood; three brothers, Merle McCormick, John McCormick, Gary McCormick; one sister, Carolyn Jernigan; four grandchildren; Jessica Keller, Nick Buswell, Jamie McCormick, and Bo McCormick and seven great grandchildren.  

Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood, Arkansas, along with interment at Mount Olive Cemetery in Midland, Arkansas.
